About The Position

Hire, train, and develop store staff with goals for growth and success in their positions. Provide ongoing performance feedback and recognize accomplishments. Review all store evaluations with staff to identify opportunity areas and correct all issues with a sense of urgency. Coordinate the overall supervision of staff to ensure sales performance goals are met and company procedures are followed accurately. Delegate workload among associates to meet merchandising/visual standards and complete merchandising updates. Participate in associate evaluations to provide feedback and growth opportunities. Work with vendors to develop merchandising strategies and assist with plan-o-gram. Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create work schedules. Monitor payroll to ensure compliance with labor cap. Review staffing needs, strengths, and opportunities, prior to additions, promotions, or terminations. Develop and implement an in-store marketing strategy including promotions, events, and seasonal merchandising based on store needs. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration or related field. Relevant work experience can substitute for education.
  • Three plus years managerial experience in retail. Experience in hardware or home improvement is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills. Effectively prioritize business needs and issues.
  • Follow-up, follow-through, and project management skills required.
  • Embrace change and be a change agent when necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Make a professional impression using effective verbal and written communication.
  • Exude confidence and comfort in interacting with all associates.
  • Sound leadership skills and solid decision making.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
  • Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
  • Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others
  • Knowledge and experience of various departments.
  • A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
  • Availability must be flexible, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
