Oversee all aspects of the store to ensure success daily as well as the strategic goals of the Company.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service.  This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the Company’s Point of Sale (POS) system, basic Microsoft computer programs, Company e-mail and their capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of products and plants.
  • Ability to adapt to the fast-paced environment of the industry and be flexible and open to new ideas and changes.
  • Weekend availability; Flexibility regarding shifts and hours
  • Prolonged standing and walking up to 100% of shift
  • Bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, stretching, squatting and kneeling – primarily in relation to movement and placement of product and assisting customers with product, as well as with use of pallet jacks for moving product
  • Exposure to all types of weather

Responsibilities

  • Maintain customer service goals and objectives on a consistent basis, making sure that each customer has a great experience every time they enter and leave the store.
  • Handle all customer complaints in a professional and effective manner.
  • Actively support and recruit new customers and employees.
  • Enforce and maintain Company policies and procedures.
  • Meet and work to exceed sales goals.
  • Control labor costs in conjunction with payroll budget in order to minimize waste but maximize sales.
  • Control and track inventory making sure the numbers stay correct in the system, including: receiving, transferring and distribution to other store locations properly.
  • Reduce, monitor and record wasted/damaged inventory.
  • Maintain proper signage and displays of merchandise.
  • Coordinate deliveries to customers and outgoing transfers to other stores.
  • Perform the duties necessary to successfully open and close the store; make sure banking needs are met for the day and the next few days, including making deposits.
  • Provide appropriate paperwork and reports to corporate office; including receiving, sales, spending and personnel paperwork.
  • Attend and participate in Monday morning manager meetings and relay information to store personnel.
  • Participate and support corporate sponsored advertising, events and clubs.
  • Attend training sessions and trade shows as required.
  • Perform basic human resource duties within store; e.g. hiring, terminating, training, reviewing, counseling, scheduling and promoting employees.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Communicate goals and daily expectations to all managerial staff.
  • Conduct store staff meetings and daily huddles.
  • Guide, direct and assign tasks to departments/employees.
  • Monitor employee performance daily and provide feedback.
  • Communicate with personnel in a positive manner; ensure they are aware of the proper steps to discuss an issue/problem/concern (follow chain of command).
  • Resolve all problems that may arise within the store, including conflicts between personnel.
  • Make sure the store is clean, stocked and adequately staffed at all times.
  • Maintain the upkeep of the facility and all equipment; notify the corporate office of any needs/issues. (This includes making sure all scheduled maintenance is taken care of.)
  • Maintain neat, professional appearance at all times, including personal appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Follow OSHA regulations in order to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
  • As a member of management, you are a representative of the Company, and as such are to uphold the Company’s standards, beliefs, policies and procedures at all times.
