About The Position

Sam Edelman has an incredible opportunity for a Store Sales Manager to join our highly creative, forward-thinking team in providing a world-class customer experience! Are you confident, proactive and trend-savvy with previous experience working with a luxury or contemporary fashion brand? You'll be perfect for this position if you also have managerial experience as a strong sales-driver who enjoys spending time on the floor working with your team and clients.

Requirements

  • Some college required
  • 1-5 years of retail store management experience
  • Able to build constructive and effective relationships within store
  • Demonstrates an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals
  • Demonstrates an ability to lead, manage, motivate and communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
  • Ability to train, coachâ and develop Associates
  • Must exercise independent judgment and discretion partnering with District/Territory Sales Manager as needed
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends and extended hours
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
  • Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Create Partnerships & Engage with Industry Trends: Acquire internal partnerships and informal networks to remain engaged with current consumer insights/trends: Mall marketing/media, social influencers, neighboring businesses/retailers/charitable organizations.
  • Elevate the Store Experience: Elevate the overall shopping experience for all Sam Edelman Clients utilizing the "The Sam Style" model, and providing an inviting world-class customer experience through daily execution of coaching tools that promote it within the team. Utilize your detail-oriented skillset to assist the team in product rotation and store representation according to our visual merchandising standards, create renewed shopping behaviors.
  • Drive with Passion: Lead by example by encouraging active engagement in company initiatives, contests, and strategies to reach desired performance. Cultivate the importance that our sales floor is the number one priority because our customer always comes first.
  • Provide Coaching & Feedback: Use daily chat-ins/out with associates to ensure accountability and measure performance, and address associate behavioral and performance deficiencies using coaching. Educates and coaches associates on company Loss Prevention programs and processes including understanding "shrink" goals.
  • Recruit, Hire and Retain Top Talent: Recruit, interview and hire a top-performing team, building a strong talent pipeline for succession in key roles. Actively identify opportunities to promote from within.
  • Deliver Store Performance Reporting: Reviews reports to evaluate overall store performance and recommends action plans to address variances to company standards and expectations. Develops and recommends strategic action plans to solve complex problems impacting associates and/or the business in partnership with leadership.
  • Cultivate a Culture of Professionalism and Respect: Foster a professional and safe work environment where associates are valued, respected and recognized for their contributions.
  • Other Essential Functions: Completes other projects and assignments as directed by management.
