About The Position

Famous Footwear is seeking a full-time Store Manager who is passionate about serving their community by providing an excellent shoe store experience for families. This role involves leading the store team to meet and exceed Talent, Culture, and Operational responsibilities. The manager is a people leader, motivating the team to achieve sales targets and growth goals through personal demonstration, training, and development. They are responsible for creating an in-store culture that fosters customer loyalty and enthusiasm for the product and store presentation, staying updated on trends, and educating the team. The ideal candidate loves shoes and helps every customer experience the 'Famous Feeling'.

Requirements

  • Has a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Has 1-5 years of retail store management experience, specialty retail preferred.
  • Builds constructive and effective relationships within store teams.
  • Demonstrates an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals.
  • Displays an ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
  • Exhibits ability to train, coach and develop Associates.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion, partnering with Territory Sales Manager as needed.
  • Displays cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
  • Demonstrates expertise and proven ability to lead general retail practices and procedures.
  • Can work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends and extended hours.
  • Has basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire The Customer Connection: Inspire the team with integrity and drive, fostering a culture centered on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery. Develop internal talent by assessing strengths and opportunities, motivating new levels of greatness by modeling selling behaviors and infusing coaching moments.
  • Lead Talent Discovery: Be enthusiastic and proactive about seeking out and networking with exceptional external talent. Invest time, effort, and resources in developing strong succession plans for leadership roles within the store. Hire individuals passionate about creating top-notch customer experiences driven by attentiveness to service and determination to sell.
  • Own Retail Operations: Be an expert in day-to-day store operations (from pricing to shipment processing to inventory and everything in between). Leverage store standards to keep all styles easily shoppable. Balance associate availability, peak times, and seasonal demands for staffing decisions to deliver exceptional service.
  • Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Take ownership of goals and their impact on Famous’s overall performance. Drive sales with purpose and determination, utilizing insights from business analysis and observations to refine strategies and enhance results. Align operational efforts for success using available resources and key partnerships.
  • Be the Architect of a Winning Culture: Create a work and team environment where diversity and inclusivity are valued, ensuring each associate feels included and respected. Maintain a positive and proactive mindset, setting a winning example. Promote team engagement in fresh and exciting ways to increase retention and improve Associate effort and performance.
