About The Position

This role helps to foster self-reliance, care for the poor and the needy, and provide opportunities for giving and service. This includes helping members become economically and emotionally self-reliant, providing access to essential food and clothing items, helping members prepare for and respond to disasters, and providing humanitarian aid to relieve suffering, thus furthering the mission of the Church. The Store Manager facilitates the direction and implementation of service plans associated with Deseret Industries stores and their partnerships with local priesthood leaders. This partnership aims to drive greater focus on caring for the poor and needy, fostering self-reliance for trainees, and encouraging service to others (volunteers, service missionaries, etc.). The manager will manage and develop leadership talent, execute proven operational processes and strategies, model professional behavior and communication with priesthood and Relief Society leaders, assist the rehabilitation team to identify and establish local business networks for outplacement opportunities for trainees, and leverage other operational support teams (Elect Services, Marketing, Merchandising, Project and Construction Management, Safety, Human Resources, etc.) to refine service plan execution and profitability. The store manager seeks and accepts ownership and accountability for Total Budgeted Operations (TBO), quality and quantity of trainee outplacements, and the leadership of a management team built to drive organizational competence, integrity and resourcefulness.
