About The Position

If you enjoy working a unique job, with a retail team dedicated to Goodwill’s mission, Goodwill of the Heartland is looking for a Store Manager for our Outlet Store in Cedar Rapids. This is a Full-Time position with a base salary and the potential for monthly commission and incentive based on store performance. The Store Manager position requires a high school diploma/GED and two years of leadership experience. Five years of full-time employment in production, manufacturing, logistics, and/or retail is preferred. Goodwill's Outlet store is unique in that items are processed and sold in bulk quantities. Our Outlet team members are often hired through Goodwill mission programs, can be English language learners, and/or are re-entering the workforce from previous incarceration. Because of this, it is important that our Store Manager understands the value of a diverse team and the importance of helping our team members reach their full potential. Our Store Manager ensures that our team excels in customer service, internally and externally, by modelling behavior, monitoring in-store processing and inventory, and optimizing the processing of donated items for in-store use. In addition, the Store Manager creates schedules for team members to ensure adequate coverage and to meet production needs, as well as ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and cash controls on the cash register. This position will also handle store reporting, bank deposit, performance appraisals, training and developing their team, and other in-store documentation. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or in pursuit of a diploma/GED required
  • Five years full-time employment, preferably in production, manufacturing, logistics, or retail
  • Two years leadership experience required
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and motor vehicle record.
  • Proof of valid driver’s license and car insurance.
  • Candidates must have weekend availability.
  • In order to provide the best leadership, this position will require work every other weekend, at least one evening shift, and one mid-shift per week.
