This position is a full-time role that offers an exceptional benefits package! This position is designed and intended to be performed in Litchfield, CT.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree with 5 years of retail experience, 3 of which are in a supervisory capacity, OR Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of Retail Management experience, OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven track record as a retail Store Manager with experience in leading and directing 3-5 teams of staff
  • Be an inspirational Manager, with a positive approach to running the business
  • Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Must be able to multitask

Nice To Haves

  • Agriculture background with management experience and excellent merchandising skills is a plus
  • Working knowledge of lawn and garden, agriculture, and animals (Pet and Livestock)

Responsibilities

  • Facility Management Maintain a high level of housekeeping and maintenance throughout the store, warehouse, pole buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds and ensure a positive company image
  • Provide a safe and clean store environment
  • Ensure all equipment is operational
  • Sales Management Adjust store and grounds layout to maximize utilization of selling areas
  • Oversee merchandise displays for sales efficiency, considering seasonal products and traffic
  • Coordinate displays to coincide with advertising
  • Increase traffic by creating in-store programs and company-provided promotions
  • Provide sales training and product knowledge to store personnel
  • Shop competitors for price structuring
  • Test market new products
  • Inventory Management Order products using appropriate forms in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Maintain merchandise by adding or dropping lines or items indicated by turn numbers
  • Maintain inventories at desired levels for maximum turnover and profitability
  • Oversee the handling of claims for damaged or returned goods
  • Accounting Management Approve all invoices for payment
  • Ensure all goods and services invoiced have been received
  • Maintain security over daily cash and bank deposits
  • Other duties as assigned
