About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store which includes training, directing and monitoring all department staff. The Store Manager is expected to provide exemplary customer service, maintain store standards, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. They will also handle customer complaints, manage staff performance, and ensure the store is inviting and well-stocked.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-2 years management experience in grocery and/or related retail experience.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to pass applicable food safety training courses.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Must be cashier trained.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and service customers per company standards of World Class customer service.
  • Train staff on exemplary customer service and hold them accountable.
  • Handle customer complaints appropriately and per company policy.
  • Ensure the store is inviting and shoppable.
  • Maintain stock of products customers want to buy.
  • Manage special orders per company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety certifications and registration.
  • Monitor store and department sales and performance metrics.
  • Order products from correct vendors to maintain margins.
  • Manage markdowns per company standards.
  • Assist customers in all areas of the store.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and grant wage increases.
  • Interview and hire staff with input from department managers.
  • Address performance and disciplinary issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clear communication with store staff.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Manage business disruptions and ensure store coverage.
  • Proactively hire, train, and develop staff for future management positions.
  • Complete operational responsibilities including daily schedules and reports.
  • Maintain store appearance and cleanliness.
