About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store which includes training, directing and monitoring all department staff. The Store Manager is expected to provide exemplary customer service, maintain store standards, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing the store and its staff, ensuring that all operational responsibilities are met efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-2 years management experience in grocery and/or related retail experience.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to pass applicable food safety training courses and/or testing.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and service customers per company standards of World Class customer service.
  • Train staff on exemplary customer service and hold them accountable.
  • Handle customer complaints appropriately and per company policy.
  • Ensure the store is inviting and shoppable with products in-stock.
  • Manage store and department sales, including Sales per Labor Hour Ratio.
  • Order products from correct vendors to maintain margins.
  • Ensure perishables are rotated and stocked per company standards.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and grant wage increases when appropriate.
  • Interview and hire for store needs with input from department managers.
  • Maintain clear communication with store staff and conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Proactively hire, train, and develop store staff for future management positions.
  • Complete operational responsibilities including daily schedules and reports.
