About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing total store operations at Food Lion, ensuring that financial and sales goals are met or exceeded. This role involves building strong relationships with associates and customers, promoting a positive store culture, and maintaining high standards of security, safety, and food safety. The Store Manager will lead the implementation of corporate initiatives and ensure compliance with laws and company policies while fostering a community-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • College graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Solid understanding of store operations required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be accredited as a Certified Food Safety Manager or complete training within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail management or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize all resources to achieve financial objectives and grow the customer base.
  • Lead the implementation of store-specific and corporate initiatives by setting high standards and proper planning.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, company policies, and standard practices.
  • Apply industry and market knowledge to improve competitive position.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to promote a culture reflective of Food Lion's values and strategy.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and pleasant environment for customers and associates.
  • Maintain control of all store funds and company assets.
  • Foster a positive environment that anticipates and satisfies the needs of associates and customers.
  • Recruit and select qualified candidates to meet store talent needs.
  • Recognize, evaluate, and develop associates to balance business objectives and individual needs.
  • Treat all store information with strict confidentiality.
  • Provide recognition of accomplishments and constructive counseling as needed.
  • Understand and use company tools such as financial reports and inventory systems.
  • Maintain an action plan for associates not meeting productivity standards.
  • Complete required training and perform other duties as assigned.
