The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job at CVS Health is a development-focused role designed to prepare individuals for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program aims to enhance a candidate's career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training program spanning 16 weeks. This program includes both virtual and hands-on learning experiences to develop leadership skills. Support for growth is provided by a team including a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach. SMITs are expected to actively engage in Key Learning Experiences, support their store as a management team member consistent with CVS values and policies, and engage colleagues in the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health." While selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion, candidates must be willing to accept promotion roles and transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market, and be able to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
