The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role is a development-focused position designed to prepare individuals for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program enhances career growth as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative 16-week training program. It includes both virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for growth comes from a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach. Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to a Store Manager role, as promotion depends on factors like performance and availability of openings. SMITs must be willing to accept promotion roles and transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
