The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare individuals for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program enhances careers as future store leaders through a self-paced, collaborative 16-week training, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for growth is provided by a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach. SMITs are expected to actively engage in Key Learning Experiences, support their store as a management team member consistent with CVS values and policies, and engage colleagues in the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health." Willingness to accept promotion roles and transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market is required. Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to a Store Manager role, as promotion depends on factors like performance and availability of openings.
