The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role is a development-focused position designed to prepare individuals for a CVS Store Manager role. The SMIT program is a self-paced, collaborative training spanning 16 weeks, offering both virtual and hands-on learning experiences to develop future store leaders. Support for growth is provided by a team including a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach. While selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion, it is dependent on factors like performance and availability of openings. SMITs are expected to be willing to accept promotion roles and transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within their designated market, and to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
