About The Position

Every Huck's Market Sales & Food Service Associate is cross-trained to excel in both customer sales and food service operations. This dual role involves assisting customers with their needs, maintaining store and food service standards, and ensuring smooth operations across both areas during your shift. By following company guidelines, Associates contribute to the overall profitability of the store while delivering exceptional customer service and top-quality food offerings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
• Ability to follow instructions and company policies.

• Previous experience in retail or food service.
• Familiarity with cash register operations.
• Experience with suggestive selling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers promptly and provides courteous service adhering to all Best In Class standards.
• Ensures that store appearance reflects company expectations and standards.
• Ensures that the store is open and ready for business during all hours.
• Handles all customer conflicts by using the method of MAKE IT RIGHT.
• Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Follows all federal, state and local laws and ordinances pertaining to the operation of the store.
• Follows the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged with Store Manager.
• Operates shift within company guidelines and policies.
• Ensures Store Manager is made aware of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies.
• Actively participates in all Company contests.
• Suggestive sales at all times.
• Ensures that the food service department is open and ready for business during food service hours.
• Gives all customers prompt and courteous service.
• Effectively communicates with store associates.
• Controls how much food is prepared to avoid waste, while making sure there’s always enough for customers.
• Completes a shift checklist according to company policy.
• Properly records all hours worked on the workstation.
• Rings all sales on the sales register, with no exception.
• Accurately records all voids, refunds and price overrides.
• Advises Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
• Treats all co-workers and customers with dignity and respect.
• Ensures all cash handling procedures are followed.
• Ensures a safe shopping and working environment.
• Ensures all company assets are protected, including cash and merchandise.
• Ensures vendor check-in procedures are followed per company policy.
• Keeps coolers, drink boxes, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times.
• Properly cleans and maintains equipment and readies high-margin products such as coffee, fountain drinks, etc. as directed by the Store Manager.
• Cleans windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps and parking lot to ensure they remain clean at all times.
• Reports accidents promptly to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Actively promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers.
