As a Stores Executive Intern at Target, you will experience firsthand what it’s like to lead a retail team within a Target store. This paid internship program is designed to provide you with a comprehensive, hands-on training experience that prepares you for a leadership role in retail. You will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, gaining valuable insights into the Executive Team Leader (Assistant Store Manager) role over a defined period. Throughout the internship, you will collaborate closely with other managers and team members, developing a deep understanding of Target's retail business and what it takes to excel in a management position. Your time will be spent leading among the team, identifying and working towards store priorities, and delivering exceptional guest service. The program aims to teach you how to drive guest experience and impact your store's financial, team, and operational performance. You will work alongside a mentor, learning effective leadership strategies and gaining the opportunity to lead your mentor's departments, with guidance and support provided throughout your journey. In this role, you will engage in various responsibilities, including leading daily operations, motivating your team, driving sales results, merchandising products, and ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. Your development will be prioritized, with ongoing conversations to support your growth. You will also learn to manage a team of hourly team members, set and plan departmental workloads, and recruit and select talent.
