About The Position

As a Stores Executive Intern at Target, you will experience firsthand what it’s like to lead a retail team within a Target store. This paid internship program is designed to provide you with hands-on training and development opportunities to prepare you for a future leadership role within the store. You will work closely with other managers and team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of how Target's retail business operates and what it takes to excel in a management position. The internship is structured to give you a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role (Assistant Store Manager) over a defined period of time, allowing you to immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations of the store. Throughout the internship, you will spend your time leading among the team, identifying and working towards store priorities, and delivering exceptional guest service. You will learn how to drive guest experience and impact your store's financial, team, and operational performance. Working alongside a mentor, you will gain insights into effective leadership strategies and have the opportunity to step into leading your mentor's departments, with guidance and support provided along the way. Your responsibilities will include spending time on the sales floor and backroom, leading team members, aligning the team on daily business priorities, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests. You will also partner with leaders to address team member performance, lead daily huddles, plan daily goals, and understand business reporting and guest insights. The internship is designed to foster your development as a leader, with ongoing developmental conversations and opportunities to learn and grow throughout the experience.
