About The Position

The Store Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating events, including kids' birthday parties, within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. This role involves delivering friendly customer service, helping customers shop, and ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience. The coordinator will also complete operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to deliver the brand promises.

  • Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs.
  • Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
  • Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
  • Provide fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
  • Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in the truck unload, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
  • Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
  • Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner.
  • Remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations.
  • Promote commitment to the organization's vision and values.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
  • Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms.
