About The Position

As a Store Environment Team Member at Michaels, you will maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, which includes maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises. You will deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop our store, and find what they're looking for. Your responsibilities will include collecting and disposing of trash, dusting and damp mopping floors, moving equipment and products for proper cleaning, and deep cleaning key areas of the store. You will also be responsible for maintaining cleaning equipment and notifying your supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment. This role requires you to seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks assigned by your supervisor, all while adhering to federal, state, and county guidelines.

Requirements

  • Preferred retail and/or cleaning experience.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods.
  • Ability to move throughout the store and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain store cleanliness and recovery standards.
  • Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers in finding products.
  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
  • Dust and damp mop floors using approved procedures.
  • Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and return them to correct placement.
  • Deep clean key areas of the store, including bathrooms and breakrooms.
  • Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notify supervisor of supply needs.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain positive interactions with team members and customers.
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and execute cash handling.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS).
  • Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
