About The Position

As a Store Environment Team Member at Michaels, you will maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, which includes maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises. You will deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop our store, and find what they're looking for. Your responsibilities will include collecting and disposing of trash, dusting and damp mopping floors, moving equipment and products for proper cleaning, and deep cleaning key areas of the store such as bathrooms and breakrooms. You will also be responsible for keeping cleaning equipment neat and orderly, notifying supervisors of supply needs, and completing all tasks assigned by supervisors in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines. Additionally, you will maintain positive interactions with team members and customers, project a positive image, and serve as a role model for other Team Members.

Requirements

  • Preferred retail and/or cleaning experience.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain store cleanliness and recovery standards.
  • Deliver friendly customer service.
  • Help customers shop the store and find products.

  • Dust and damp mop floors.
  • Move equipment and products for proper cleaning.
  • Deep clean key areas of the store.
  • Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly.
  • Notify supervisor of supply needs in advance.
  • Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain positive interactions with team members and customers.
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
