Store Environment Team Member

About the position

The position at Michaels involves maintaining a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, which includes ensuring cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver the Brand Promises. The role requires delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers in shopping the store, and helping them find what they're looking for. Responsibilities include collecting and disposing of trash, dusting and mopping floors, moving equipment and products for proper cleaning, and deep cleaning key areas of the store such as bathrooms and breakrooms. The position also involves maintaining positive interactions with team members and customers, projecting a positive image, and serving as a role model for other team members.

Responsibilities

• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures.
• Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and products for proper cleaning and places products back in correct placement.
• Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment.
• Deep clean key areas of the store including bathrooms, breakrooms, entry ways, and other high traffic areas.
• Keeps cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notifies supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Maintains positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers.
• Projects a positive image and serves as a role model for other Team Members.
• Provides a fast and friendly check out experience; executes cash handling to standards.
• Engages customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and completes enrollments.
• Assists with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
• Participates in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
• Supports shrink and safety programs.
• Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.

Requirements

• Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
