About The Position

The Store Driver position at Advance Auto Parts involves picking, staging, and safely delivering parts to professional customers, as well as handling returns and cores. Key responsibilities include distributing weekly/monthly sales flyers, promoting current sales and loyalty programs, and collecting credit accounts daily. Drivers are expected to build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing insights to the CPP, and assisting in upselling and cross-selling products. The role also requires maintaining store cleanliness, managing general stocking (including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts), and staying knowledgeable about product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales. Drivers will engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services. Requirements

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
  • Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Predominantly be walking or standing
  • Be able to talk and hear
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Climb or balance
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
  • Daily collection of credit accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
  • Other duties as assigned
