About The Position

The Store Driver position at Advance Auto Parts is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of automotive parts to professional customers and for supporting in-store operations. This role involves picking, staging, and delivering parts, as well as handling returns and cores. Drivers are also tasked with distributing sales flyers, promoting current sales and loyalty programs, and collecting credit accounts. A key aspect of the job is building and maintaining strong relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing valuable insights to the company, and assisting in upselling and cross-selling products. Additionally, the driver contributes to maintaining store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, and the parking lot, and performs general stocking duties such as truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts. The role requires maintaining knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to effectively assist both pro and walk-in customers with their needs. Advance Auto Parts is a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider, operating 4,781 stores primarily within the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and serving 1,125 independently owned Carquest branded stores across these locations, Mexico, and various Caribbean islands.

Requirements

  • Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment
  • Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
  • Speak and write English; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadership
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
  • Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish (a plus)
  • Automotive parts experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
  • Daily collection of credit accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
  • Other duties as assigned
