About The Position

The Store Driver position at Advance Auto Parts involves picking, staging, and safely delivering parts to pro customers, as well as handling returns and cores. Drivers are responsible for distributing weekly/monthly sales flyers, promoting current sales and loyalty programs, and collecting credit accounts daily. A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing valuable insights to the CPP. Drivers also assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase transaction value, maintain store cleanliness, perform general stocking duties including truck stocking and cycle counts, and stay knowledgeable about product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales. They engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services. Requirements

  • Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
  • Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish a plus
  • Automotive parts experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
  • Daily collection of credit accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
  • Other duties as assigned
