About The Position

This job description outlines the role of a Store Driver at Advance Auto Parts, a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider serving both professional installers and do-it-yourself customers. The company operates 4,781 stores primarily within the United States, with additional locations in Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and also serves 1,125 independently owned Carquest branded stores. The Store Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of parts to pro customers, managing returns and cores, and distributing sales flyers to promote current sales and loyalty programs. Key aspects of the role include building and maintaining customer relationships, assisting with upselling and cross-selling products, and contributing to store operations such as cleanliness, stocking, and inventory management. The position requires engaging with both pro and walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services.

  • Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
  • Speak and write English; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadership
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
  • Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

  • Automotive parts experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
  • Pick up returns and cores
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
  • Daily collection of credit accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
  • General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
  • Other duties as assigned
