About The Position

This position is for a Store Driver at Advance Auto Parts, a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider. The role involves safely delivering parts to pro customers, picking up returns and cores, and dropping off sales flyers. Drivers are also responsible for daily collection of credit accounts and building relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, providing insights to the Commercial Parts Professional (CPP). The role includes assisting in upselling and cross-selling products, maintaining store cleanliness, general stocking, and engaging with walk-in customers to recommend parts or services. Advance Auto Parts operates 4,781 stores primarily within the United States, with additional locations in Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and serves 1,125 independently owned Carquest branded stores.

Requirements

• Ability to locate and stock parts
• Safety knowledge and skills
• Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment
• Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
• Speak and write English; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadership
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
• Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

• Spanish a plus
• Automotive parts experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
• Daily collection of credit accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
• Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
• Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Other duties as assigned
