About The Position

The Store Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of parts to professional customers, including picking, staging, and delivering items, as well as handling returns and cores. This role involves promoting sales, loyalty programs, and collecting credit accounts. Drivers are expected to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing valuable insights to the company, and assisting with upselling and cross-selling products. Beyond deliveries, the position includes general store duties such as maintaining cleanliness, stocking inventory (including truck and back stock), and assisting walk-in customers by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate parts or services. Success in this role requires safe driving, effective communication, the ability to manage inventory, a strong understanding of safety protocols, sales aptitude, and excellent customer service skills.

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
• Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

• Spanish a plus
• Automotive parts experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
• Daily collection of credit accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
• Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
• Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Other duties as assigned
