As a customer service associate, you will greet customers upon their arrival at the shop, assist them in locating merchandise, and respond to any inquiries regarding the products available. Your role will involve displaying merchandise in an appealing manner, restocking items as necessary, checking expiration dates, and discarding expired items. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized storeroom, completing customer purchases, processing various payment types, and handling returns, refunds, and exchanges. Additionally, you will verify customer identification as required, maintain appropriate cash levels in the cash drawer, and ensure that all property monies and receipts are turned in and verified. Following a checklist for opening and closing the shop is essential, as is securing the shop and monitoring customer activity to prevent losses due to theft and damage. Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager is also part of your responsibilities.
