About The Position

This position is responsible for: The Store Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with purchases, donations, and inquiries, while operating and maintaining the cash register in compliance with established procedures. Duties include processing sales transactions, preparing deposits, and ensuring the security of funds and store items. The clerk maintains clean, organized, and attractive store displays, assists with pricing and stocking merchandise, and helps customers with loading or unloading items. This role also supports donation intake, monitors volunteers, and performs general cleaning tasks to ensure a welcoming and orderly store environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to operate a cash register.
  • Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change.
  • Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a retail store preferred.
  • Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with purchases, donations, inquiries, and store policies while providing courteous service.
  • Operate and balance the cash register, process payments, prepare deposits, and maintain accurate sales records.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and attractive store displays; stock, rotate, and price merchandise as directed.
  • Ensure the security of store items, cash, and equipment while monitoring volunteers as needed.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and organizing, to keep the store neat and inviting.
