The Store Clerk works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. This role is responsible for accurately processing each customer's purchases using a POS register, ensuring total customer satisfaction. Key duties include handling cash, check, and charge transactions, providing accurate change, and following proper procedures for closing out the register at the end of a shift. The clerk is also expected to assist customers with large purchases, replenish inventory, maintain a professional and clean check-out area, and contribute to general store cleanliness, including restrooms, break rooms, backrooms, and entryways. Additional responsibilities involve replenishing register supplies, answering phones, assisting with inventory management, price marking, merchandising, and reacting to potential shoplifters according to company policy. The position also requires assisting with the implementation of merchandising standards, ordering replacement products, identifying and returning outdated or overstocked merchandise, accurately packaging items for delivery, and completing all mandatory training programs.
