Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (or in progress)
  • A team player who takes the initiative and enjoys working with people
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks like bending and standing
  • May be required to obtain and maintain food handler or alcohol server permits, depending on state/local regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience, providing friendly, prompt service at the register or self-checkout.
  • Suggest additional products to enhance guest purchases and proactively inform guests about promotional food items.
  • Address guest concerns with urgency, escalating issues to managers or the shift manager as needed.
  • Foster a team-oriented, respectful work environment.
  • Ensure food and beverage items are available and up to quality standards, maintaining cleanliness in food prep areas and following all safety regulations.
  • Restock shelves, coolers, and display areas as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming store environment inside and out, completing regular cleaning tasks and assisting in inventory management.
  • Greet guests and teammates with a smile, responding promptly and courteously.
  • Be flexible and capable of working in all areas of the store, including food service, store cleaning, cash wrap, and stocking shelves/coolers.
  • Prepare, handle, and serve food in accordance with safety and quality standards, ensuring proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
  • Clean all areas of the store, including breaking down food equipment and following established cleaning procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols when handling chemicals.
  • Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately, process transactions, handle cash and card payments, and ensure the register area is clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Adhere to all cash-handling policies and procedures.
  • Meet guest transaction expectations by managing line lengths and providing polite, clear, and prompt communication.
  • Follow all written and verbal instructions to uphold food safety standards, including thoroughly cleaning preparation stations.
  • Act in accordance with all RaceTrac policies, as well as federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Respond openly to feedback from guests, team members, and leaders, making necessary adjustments to enhance performance.
  • Be a reliable team player by arriving on time for scheduled shifts, supporting teammates, sharing important information, and working effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.
  • Engage with guests and teammates politely and respectfully, listening actively to their requests without interrupting.
