The Shortage Control Associate (SCA) plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. The SCA is responsible for engaging with customers and associates, promoting safety and security standards, and supporting theft reduction programs.

  • Monitor store entrances and high-risk areas to prevent theft and ensure a secure shopping environment.
  • Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a friendly and energetic demeanor.
  • Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively about theft prevention during store rallies and collaborate with the Manager on Duty.
  • Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
  • Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious individuals to the Manager on Duty.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and command presence at all times.
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, AP/LP, or Operations is preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor the store environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and comprehend business trends.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and co-workers.
  • Strong leadership skills that foster productive business relationships.
  • Experience in loss prevention or asset protection is a plus.
  • Knowledge of theft trends and prevention strategies.
  • Competitive wage of $15.13 per hour.
