As a Family Dollar Store Ambassador, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with their shopping needs, and protecting store assets through observation of customers and Store Associates under the Store Manager's direction. This role is designed for select complex stores.

Requirements

  • Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, and training manuals.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed and scheduled. A valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Prefer some experience working with the public; retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environments are preferred.
  • Previous loss prevention or security experience is desirable.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. (and occasionally up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height. Must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner, maintaining a strong company image within the community.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence in the store to enhance customer service and asset protection.
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining standards of safety and control. This may include tagging merchandise, assisting with the check in of DSD vendors, and reporting observations.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the Store Manager, documenting observations of transactions and store activity.
  • Document incidents that occur.
  • Conduct daily inspections, including audits of shrink reduction initiatives and safety standards.
  • Resolve concerns through personal action or partnership with store manager.
  • Aid the Store Manager in checking in store deliveries and monitoring security systems.
  • Complete associate bag checks.
  • Provide feedback and observations to the District Manager, RAPM, or Market Investigator.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development calls to increase job knowledge and skill.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the District Manager, RAPM, or Market Investigator/Auditor.
