The Storage System Administrator II role concentrates on the management of storage and backup infrastructure in a large enterprise. Ideal candidates must be strong in IBM storage and backup platforms, Global Mirroring, and fiber channel switch knowledge, including use of management software for all related technology. Storage System Administrator II is responsible for performance, capacity, availability, currency, and scalability of the storage and backup infrastructure. They are also responsible for automation, alerting, and enabling pro-active monitoring of the environment, L3 troubleshooting for complex problems, implementation of changes.

  • Implement changes to the storage and backup environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and six (6) years of related IT experience, or a High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of related IT experience.
  • One or more of the following certifications: IBM Certified Administrator - Tivoli Storage Manager, IBM Certified Specialist - Midrange Storage Technical Support v2/v3, IBM Certified Specialist Enterprise Storage Technical Support v2/v3.
  • Three (3) years of experience with AIX Operating system.
  • Five (5) years of experience with IBM storage and TSM server hardware - DS8, DS5, V7000; virtual and physical server technologies, especially Power 7; AD/Windows server admin.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certified Specialist- Storewize V7000 Technical Solutions.
  • IBM Certified Specialist - Storewize V7000 Implementation.
  • Flexible work schedule.
