With operations in 13 states, CSS is one of the largest growers of chip potatoes and seed potatoes in North America. Our three main business segments include chip potato, seed potato and specialty potato production. Relationships The Storage Supervisor reports to the Storage Managers as well as works with farm leadership to effectively manage and ship potatoes to customers across the United States.

  • Lead load-out team of 6 to 14 employees
  • Troubleshoot and provide mechanical maintenance supervision to shipping operations
  • Monitor produce quality and implement quality control standards as directed by Storage Manager and Farm Manager
  • Direct third-party freight operators through shipment process
  • Maintain storage facilities to obtain highest possible quality and lowest amount of shrink on crop production
  • Ensure proper operation of bins by checking them daily.
  • Maintain proper humidity levels and airflow.
  • Regularly walk storages to visually verify potato quality, humidity levels and physical count of remaining product.
  • Lead potato storage operations, maintenance, and cleaning throughout the year
  • Monitor all aspects of mechanical and computer control panels
  • Assist in managing various staff during storage harvest
  • Be willing to help other farm functions when not working on storage maintenance
  • Assist seed handling and seed cutting operations during the spring planting season
  • Assist the crop grading and storage filling operations during the fall harvest season
  • Help monitor crop bruise-free handling program during harvest and shipping
  • Demonstrated strong work-ethic, outstanding leadership ability, exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work weekends is required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year’s experience working with storage of crops
  • Self-directed individual who leads projects to identify and implement solutions with team input
  • Adaptability to changing situations and have the ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple priorities
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based computer programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and a general aptitude with software systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to train and work with operational personnel on the farm
  • Superior organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to acquire and hold a valid US driver’s license and successfully pass vehicle insurance verification
  • Eligible to work unrestricted in the U.S. without company sponsorship
  • Ability to comprehend, read, write and communicate proficiently in English and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in potato crop production and strong electrical knowledge
  • Bachelors of Science degree in an Ag related field
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of work time
