The Storage Administrator is a critical role responsible for managing the customer environment with a focus on storage solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of storage hardware and software, ensuring that installations, configurations, and administration are performed according to industry best practices. The Storage Administrator will work in a 24x7 support environment, ensuring high levels of data quality and availability for all enterprise and customer needs. This includes managing Dell and Oracle storage arrays, integrating new hosts with storage systems, and ensuring optimal performance through load balancing and failover configurations. In this role, the Storage Administrator will be tasked with the installation and configuration of multi-path software on hosts, as well as managing the Fiber Channel SAN infrastructure. This includes overseeing fabric architecture, switch directors, and zoning to ensure efficient data flow and storage management. The administrator will also be responsible for implementing and managing both Dell and Oracle enterprise and mid-tier storage subsystems, as well as performing RAID configurations and utilizing disk management tools effectively. Additionally, the Storage Administrator will conduct health checks on storage arrays and switches, perform storage allocation based on server requirements, and analyze storage performance. Troubleshooting is a key aspect of this role, as the administrator will need to address issues related to storage systems from an end-to-end perspective. The position also involves managing, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise-wide storage capacity to ensure that available capacity meets organizational expectations.
