About The Position

The Stockroom Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the store’s back-of-house inventory and stockroom processes. This position is responsible for overseeing the receipt, organization, and distribution of merchandise, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting the sales floor with timely replenishment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. This role will also perform other management duties as needed, such as opening and closing the store.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of retail stockroom or inventory experience; supervisory experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in retail management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily stockroom operations including receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely updates in the system.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with management for replenishment needs.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly labeled, stored, and rotated to minimize shrinkage and damage.
  • Supervise and train stock associates on stockroom procedures and safety protocols.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure productivity standards are met.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Coordinate with sales associates and managers to ensure timely restocking of shelves.
  • Assist in setting up promotional displays and seasonal transitions.
  • Respond to urgent product requests from the sales floor.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free stockroom environment.
  • Conduct regular audits and participate in inventory counts.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as needed, including opening and closing the store when needed.
