About The Position

The Storeroom Clerk is the liaison between the operators/technical resources and the Storeroom Leader, providing support for finding parts, shipping/receiving items into the Storeroom, parts inventory, maintaining supplies, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the Storeroom. This role helps ensure on-hand inventory of critical spares to reduce downtime and increase reliability across the facility. This will be a 12 hr. on-shift role working with the operating teams.

Responsibilities

  • Follows and enforces storeroom best practices to optimize spare part inventory to meet the business need.
  • Manages parts counter and can assist customers when needed to locate and check out parts.
  • Distributes storeroom materials in accordance with requisition forms.
  • Performs cycle counts to verify inventory vs min/max limits.
  • Owns inventory flow by restocking shelves, issuing parts to work orders, delivering parts, and receiving returned parts back into stock.
  • Fulfills parts reservations (parts kitting) for upcoming planned work.
  • Works with Storeroom Leader/Buyer to reduce on-hand inventory through the optimization of min/max order quantities and managing slow-moving and obsolete parts.
  • Works with external vendors to identify and procure parts, including seeking new parts to improve machine reliability and standardize spare parts
  • Conducts daily housekeeping procedures in the storeroom and maintains 5S areas to standard.
  • Successfully complete and maintain forklift certification as required.
  • Travel to the warehouse to deliver and retrieve parts as needed, ensuring timely and accurate handing of materials.
