The Stocker position in the Grocery department is a non-exempt role that provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. The Stocker is responsible for unloading products, opening containers, stocking shelves, and rotating products where necessary.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent experience.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
• Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Unloads trucks, opens containers, stocks shelves, runs overstock on risers, and rotates product.
• Monitors for mis-picked items and reviews product outs.
• Organizes stock for greatest efficiency and cleans/restocks damaged items.
• Tags shelves with overstock and reports new items for system input.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Operates register for customer purchases.
• Trains new stockers in job duties.
• Performs outside maintenance tasks.
• Stocks supplies and cleans various areas of the store.
• Orders merchandise and supplies as needed.
• Assists in other areas of the store as needed.

Benefits

• Anticipated hourly starting wage of $13.00 to $16.25 depending on experience.
