About The Position

PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California, with distribution centers in San Jose, Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento. The Stocker position involves stocking and straightening merchandise for sale in the warehouse, clearing and cleaning aisles of empty pallets and debris, and providing prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. The role requires adherence to proper safety procedures and standards.

Required bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items with need to lift and move bulky and heavy items without assistance up to 75 pounds.
Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and suppliers.
Helps our members to load items into their cart, vehicles and directs them to merchandise.
Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities.
Stocks shelve, aligns merchandise, collects and returns stray items.
Cuts boxes for display / accessibility of the merchandise and cuts twine and shrink wrap from pallet.
Marks merchandise as needed.
Moves and positions pallets of merchandise.
Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets.
Checks for correct merchandise signs.
Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor.
Clears the sales floor of debris and sweeps.
Removes empty pallets from aisles.
Operates pallet jack, forklift, cardboard baler, and trash compactors in a safe manner, keeping away from front end and customer foot / vehicle traffic.
Rewraps loose merchandise.
Placing trash in the appropriate location.
Follows all safety and security procedures.
Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall danger zones.
Follows all established inventory preparation guidelines and requirements.
Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
