About The Position

STOCKER NON-FLO PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento POSITION SUMMARY Stocks and straightens merchandise for sale in the warehouse. Clears and cleans aisles of empty pallets and debris. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and suppliers. Helps our members to load items into their cart, vehicles and directs them to merchandise. Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities. Stocks shelve, aligns merchandise, collects and returns stray items. Cuts boxes for display / accessibility of the merchandise and cuts twine and shrink wrap from pallet. Marks merchandise as needed. Moves and positions pallets of merchandise. Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets. Checks for correct merchandise signs. Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor. Clears the sales floor of debris and sweeps. Removes empty pallets from aisles. Operates pallet jack, forklift, cardboard baler, and trash compactors in a safe manner, keeping away from front end and customer foot / vehicle traffic. Rewraps loose merchandise. Placing trash in the appropriate location. Follows all safety and security procedures. Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall danger zones. Follows all established inventory preparation guidelines and requirements. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary. WORKING CONDITIONS: Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, the environment can be noisy and dusty, and may emit gas fumes. Doors at the front are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes. May have to handle merchandise and work with sharp tool edges. Standing and walking for long periods of time on concrete surface. Some overtime may be required. Tools, supplies and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials. Hours may vary due to operational need.

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to lift items weighing up to 65 lbs.
Must pass Background Check
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Basic math skills and legible handwriting
Required bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items with need to lift and move bulky and heavy items without assistance up to 75 pounds
Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
Ability to work independently and/or as a team member

High School Diploma or GED preferred
