The location in Nekoosa, (Wisconsin, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Stock Prep Assistant Superintendent. This job is full-time permanent.

Requirements

Process familiarity and experience (2-year minimum experience) which demonstrates process troubleshooting, analytical problem-solving abilities, and ability to lead change with speed.
BS Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, Chemistry, or related field or equivalent experience
Requires excellent color vision, ability to work well with others and be a team player.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a union environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Be a role model for safety by promoting a safe work environment and by engaging in safety initiatives.
Support high quality product standards and works to reduce product/process variability.
Provide technical assistance to the production areas.
Focus on cost optimization by initiating and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Interface with outside technical resources and suppliers to initiate cost reduction, quality enhancement and process improvement trials.
Build positive relationships with the hourly workforce and provide technical training on process improvements and process changes that impact safety, quality, costs, operations, and efficiencies.
Develop leadership skillset and take on increasing levels of supervisor responsibilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems in production with color or equipment pertaining to color.
Train production personnel on dye systems, new dyes, and color-matching techniques.
Daily contact with beater room & paper mill personnel to resolve color/equipment issues and trial information. Frequent communication with planning concerning color sequencing of grades on paper machines.
Provide weekend and weeknight on-call coverage for the Paper unit on a rotating basis.
