About The Position

The Stock Handler is appointed to his/her position by the Manager, Distribution and is solely responsible to him/her. The Stock Handler either manually, by forklift or hand truck transports raw materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated locations in the facility or onto trucks. The Stock Handler is an Hourly position. This position may be the primary back up to Domestic positions such as receiving, small parcel shipping, and pallet wrapping/loading.

Requirements

  • A high school graduate, or equivalent.
  • The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired in 9 to 12 months of experience in a distribution environment.
  • Must possess good mathematical aptitude (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must be able to use bar code scanner based instruments.
  • Ability to learn and apply accrued knowledge of standard Distribution Department’s procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks.
  • Must be computer literate (basic data entry) in a Windows environment. Basic Word and Excel skills are beneficial.
  • Must be able to read and write business English.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must possess good organizational ability.
  • Willingness to accept other duties, as assigned.
  • Must possess the ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external customers, function as a team player, accept constructive criticism from management and comply with Company policies.
  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of GMP, OSHA, FDA, and other related guidelines and be able to apply them.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience a plus.
  • Prior ERP and WMS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manually or via lift-truck or hand trucks performs various material handling duties in the facility.
  • Performs timely storage of received finished goods, packaging, and WIP.
  • Performs inventory computer transactions.
  • Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas.
  • Cleans up and disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and places in proper containers or designated areas.
  • Rotates stock to ensure oldest inventory is picked first for customer orders (FEFO).
  • Monitors the condition of departmental equipment.
  • Retrieves packaging from warehouse (as indicated on pick tickets) for Production usage.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts.
  • Notifies Group Leader or Manager, Distribution when department supplies need to be re-ordered.
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities, as may be required by the Manager, Distribution.
  • Learn and understand multiple areas of Domestic distribution, including but not limited to small parcel, replenishment, pallet orders, pallet wrapping, and receiving.
  • Assists with picking and preparing customer orders for shipment, when needed.
  • Supports the Winner’s Circle and Blistex Quality System Processes.
