About The Position

Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation is seeking a Stock Director to provide strategic leadership for the Stock Department, ensuring high-quality administrative operations and exceptional service to shareholders and the Board of Directors. This role oversees shareholder services, manages time-sensitive initiatives, and upholds strict confidentiality standards while driving efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness across department functions. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-driven, and committed to operational excellence and customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Stock or Shareholder Services within an Alaska Native organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of ANCSA and applicable Alaska Statutes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and document management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must be a Notary Public or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.

  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the Iñupiat language highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for shareholders, providing excellent customer service through in-person interactions, phone calls, and written correspondence daily.
  • Assist shareholders with inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to their needs.
  • Notarize shareholder documents upon request, adhering to legal and organizational standards.
  • Enter, update, and maintain shareholder information in the shareholder database with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage the transfer of shares and Class B stock in the database, ensuring compliance with the Board of Directors' (BOD) approvals.
  • Lead the Stock Department team in preparing for the Annual Meeting, including: Overseeing proxy entry and ensuring accurate data processing. Coordinating the distribution of mail-outs, such as meeting notices, proxies, and other event materials. Organizing shareholder registration processes for the Annual Meeting.
  • Direct the Stock team in managing projects and timelines specific to Annual Meeting preparation.
  • Direct the Stock team in support of Informational Meetings
  • Oversee the project of trust distributions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Stock Department team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Train team members on department processes, tools, and compliance requirements to ensure consistent performance and professional growth.
  • Uphold a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive shareholder information.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) and relevant Alaska Statutes.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the department and organization.
