About The Position

The Stock Clerk for Grocery is responsible for the efficient handling and organization of merchandise. Key duties include stocking and straightening products, ensuring proper rotation based on expiration dates, and managing incoming truck deliveries using appropriate equipment and established procedures. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness within the work area through basic housekeeping tasks, utilizing equipment such as mops, brooms, and floor machines. Safe operation of all tools and equipment is essential. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds, and sustained standing or walking at a rapid pace. Secondary responsibilities involve assisting customers by unloading and bagging groceries, and transporting purchases to their cars. The clerk is expected to perform all duties with speed and accuracy, under limited supervision, and may occasionally handle items over 50 pounds.

Requirements

Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform job functions.

Works well with others.
Speaks English fluently.
Eyesight corrected to 20/20.
Hearing corrected to normal range.
Possess full range of motion on shoulders, arms, hands, legs and feet.

Responsibilities

Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
Rotates merchandise as necessary according to product expiration dates.
Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.)
Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
Maintains a clean and neat work area.
Unloads groceries from customers shopping cart
Carries or carts groceries to customer’s car.
Properly bags or packages customers purchases using correct size and quantity of bags.
Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
Performs all essential job functions with limited supervision.
Other duties as assigned.
