About The Position

The position involves receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, or tools, while compiling stock records of items in a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Responsibilities include counting, sorting, or weighing incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice, examining stock to verify conformance to specifications, and storing articles in bins, on the floor, or on shelves according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material. The role also requires filling orders or issuing supplies from stock, preparing periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock, and requisitioning articles to fill incoming orders. Additionally, the position involves compiling reports on stock handling equipment usage, inventory adjustments, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments. Other duties may include marking identifying codes on articles, distributing stock among production workers, making adjustments or repairs to stock, and ensuring compliance with established regulations and operating procedures. The role may require performing some duties in an office environment and others in a warehouse or exterior storage areas, potentially in adverse weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Extremely customer focused.
  • Basic working knowledge of governing supply systems and policies.
  • Understanding of the needs of the organizations serviced.
  • Experience in military supply and logistics systems or civilian equivalency.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of governing supply systems and policies.
  • Completion of HAZWOPPER training within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to lift 40 LBS and push/pull up to 250 LBS with proper equipment.
  • HAZMAT experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge to operate Logistics Information Systems (LIS).
  • Ability to operate office computer automation equipment.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 25 wpm on business automation equipment.
  • Understanding and use of safety items and personal protective equipment (PPE).
