About The Position

We are looking for a professional Stock Plan/Payroll Analyst to fill a position as an integral member of the Stock Administration team. This person should have strong attention to detail and sense of urgency. They will report to the Associate Director, Payroll & Stock Administration. This employee will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of all aspects of Vertex's equity compensation plans, including ESPP, stock option exercises, and RSU releases utilizing Fidelity and processing stock transactions in payroll utilizing Workday.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of equity experience in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of individual and corporate level equity information.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (CEP preferred).
  • Experience on Fidelity Stock Plan Services platform or other a plus.
  • Good/Excellent excel skills for complex spreadsheets.
  • Ability to learn and understand equity fundamentals including SOX compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the equity compensation plans, including ESPP, stock option exercises, and RSU releases.
  • Review and enhance desk procedures to maximize efficiency, consistency, and ensure compliance.
  • Deliver all tasks accurately and timely with keen attention to detail.
  • Ensure all forms of equity compensation are administered in accordance with the terms and conditions of the plans from which they are granted.
  • Maintain employee records in Fidelity such as indicative data, pre-clearance, terminations, and plan/participant-level tax information.
  • Answer employee inquiries via our internal case system and maintain the equity shared mailbox.
  • Maintain insider list on Fidelity (Preclearance and Blackout).
  • Load and audit all ESPP contributions globally and assist with all purchase activity.
  • Report ESPP disqualified and qualified disposition monthly to payroll.
  • Support year-end ESPP disposition survey and processing to payroll.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining internal documentation for stock administration (SOPs).
  • Assist with reviewing and loading employee grants into Fidelity timely.
  • Run reports and analyze for SOX Compliance.
  • Perform reconciliation and provide reporting for Shares Outstanding and Available.
  • Adhere to internal processes and procedures, and ensure compliance with international & US tax withholding/reporting requirements while working with the team to develop efficiencies.
  • Assist with all other ad hoc projects, reporting, and responsibilities as needed.
