About The Position

Summary The primary purpose of the position is to provide residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan and as directed by supervisors. Administrative Functions Reports all changes in the resident's condition to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Supervisor as soon as practicable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Nursing Care Functions The following list of duties is not exhaustive and may be revised by management as needed. Weighs residents in accordance with the plan of care. Reports to nurse the resident's food/fluid intake; reports changes in the resident's eating habits. Assists residents in accordance with their needs ranging from minimal assistance to total dependent care on activities of daily living (ADLs) i.e., bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, meals, oral hygiene, etc. Assists residents in walking with or without self-help devices as instructed. Assists with lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, showers, wheelchairs, lifts, etc. Reports any injuries/changes in condition to nurse. Provides nail care to non-diabetic residents. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests.
  • Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to properly and safely use equipment (lift, scales, tubs, etc.).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Must be an active State Tested Nursing Assistant in Ohio.
  • Must maintain 12 hours of continuing education every 2 years to meet required State regulations.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
