About The Position

An STNA provides direct patient care under the supervision of nurses. You help residents with daily activities, monitor their condition, and support the healthcare team. Requirements

  • Active Ohio STNA certification
  • High school diploma (usually preferred)
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Compassion and patience
  • Good communication
  • Physical strength (lifting, standing long hours)
  • Attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Help residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Assist with eating, drinking, and mobility (walking, transferring)
  • Turn/reposition patients in bed to prevent bedsores
  • Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature)
  • Observe changes in patient condition and report to nurses
  • Document care in charts or electronic records
  • Change bed linens and keep rooms clean
  • Serve meals and help with feeding
  • Transport residents to activities or appointments
  • Assist nurses during procedures
  • Help maintain a safe, clean environment
  • Communicate with patients, families, and staff
  • Evening care (dinner help, getting residents ready for bed)
  • Overnight rounds (checking, repositioning, vitals)
  • Early morning care (getting residents up, hygiene, breakfast prep)
