About The Position

The position is responsible for directing the Stitcher with Inkjet operations to ensure that the product meets customer quality and time requirements while also adhering to company profitability standards. The role involves a variety of essential duties and responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the production process.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate secondary piece of equipment preferred.
  • Ink jet and controller knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of procedures in other departments (Press, Direct Mail, Shipping/Receiving, Distribution, etc.).
  • Knowledge of finishing equipment, materials, and products.
  • Computer experience.
  • Ability to train and coach.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
  • Physical effort - refer to physical demand analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with security guidelines set by Nahan to protect customers.
  • Answer phone, perform basic production-related duties, and keep the schedule on track in the absence of the Shift Leader.
  • Inspect cost center processes to ensure they are performed correctly and quality standards are met.
  • Read and understand postal specifications and follow the sign-off process.
  • Complete sortation training and understand bagging requirements.
  • Learn, understand, and follow all established processes associated with the operation of the Ink Jet controller and all in-line equipment.
  • Setup, operate, and maintain the Ink Jet and all associated in-line equipment.
  • Perform helper duties, including setting up stations and sortation and bagging requirements.
  • Setup, run, and maintain all card feeding equipment.
  • Set up, run, and maintain pocket feeders and all related equipment.
  • Set up, run, and maintain poly wrapper and all related equipment.
  • Set up the machine correctly and ensure that the job is aligned and measured according to the job ticket and dylux.
  • Teach and train operation and basic troubleshooting of the Stitcher.
  • Perform make readies proficiently, including pockets, stitcher heads, cover feeder, etc.
  • Repair and rebuild stitcher heads.
  • Change knives on trim systems proficiently.
  • Adjust/change gathering chain.
  • Demonstrate leadership in working with operators, helpers, and temporary staff.
